Water Rules & Regulations

The Prudential Committee is responsible for establishing and enforcing the Rules & Regulations that govern Colchester Fire District No. 1’s water system. The current Rules & Regulations and supplementary ordinance, both adopted in April 2006, govern the installation and use of public and private water lines, the installation and maintenance of water service connections, meters, hydrants, valves and other existing or proposed components of the District’s water system. They also establish conditions to be observed by parties connected to that water system and penalties for violations of the regulations. All customers located within the boundaries of the Fire District who are connected to either the Fire District’s water system or directly to CWD’s water system are similarly bound by the Fire District’s Rules & Regulations.
